Overview
Embark on a captivating journey to the West Bank of Luxor, where the ancient sands of Egypt cradle the remnants of a glorious past. This tour is a pilgrimage through a necropolis of pharaohs, where the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon stand as silent witnesses to the grandeur and mystique of a civilization that once thrived along the banks of the Nile.
Sunrise Over the Valley of the Kings:
As the first light of dawn caresses the West Bank, commence your adventure at the Valley of the Kings. Home to the tombs of pharaohs and high-ranking officials, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a testament to the Egyptian belief in the afterlife. Embark on a surreal journey into the heart of the mountains, where the elaborate burial chambers of Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and numerous other rulers await discovery.
Marvel at the vibrant murals and intricate hieroglyphics that adorn the walls, narrating tales of the pharaohs’ journeys to the afterlife. Each tomb unveils a unique story, providing a glimpse into the religious and cultural practices that surrounded death and resurrection in ancient Egypt.
Divine Elegance at the Temple of Hatshepsut:
Proceed to the Temple of Hatshepsut, an architectural marvel nestled against the sheer cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Named after one of Egypt’s most iconic female pharaohs, Queen Hatshepsut, this temple is a harmonious blend of natural and man-made beauty. Ascend the terraced levels and explore the intricately designed colonnades, chapels, and sanctuaries. Admire the imposing statues of the queen and absorb the serene ambiance of this sacred site.
Artistry and Mystery at the Valley of the Artisans:
Venture to the Valley of the Artisans, also known as Deir el-Medina, where the skilled craftsmen and artisans who built the tombs and temples resided. Explore the remarkably well-preserved homes, workshops, and communal areas of these ancient builders. The vivid murals and inscriptions provide a glimpse into the daily lives, religious practices, and societal structure of the people who shaped Luxor’s landscape.

Colossi of Memnon: Guardians of the Past:

These towering sentinels, standing over 18 meters tall, are remnants of a temple complex that has long since disappeared. Marvel at the sheer size of these ancient statues and contemplate the passage of time as they silently watch over the surrounding plains.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
